Kinlin XC279:279

Black, 20h, 24h, 28h, 32h 700c £40

500g

The XC279 is deeper than most of the 23mm wide alloy rims that I currently sell. It is pleasingly chunky albeit perhaps a bit overbuilt. It comes with the standard benefits of a Kinlin rim using a Niobium Alloy. Weight figures with this rim and not going to be jaw dropping, but the prices is very appealing and the sets build up nicely and feel solid when riding.

For comparison:

DCR hubs/CX-Rays – 1525g.

Kinlin 22t – available in 20/24/28/32h – £4522t

450g

Tubeless friendly. Nice and stiff and light and wide. One of the best rim profiles Kinlin has produced and it is a nice modern design, making lightweight tubeless wheels possible at a more affordable price. With DCR and CX-Ray spokes it would weigh appxoimately 1425g.

Kinlin 26t – available in 20/24/28/32h – £55

460g

This is our most popular of the three (22t, 26t and 31t), being a ‘Goldilocks’ rim. It’s not much heavier than the 22t but offers a substantial weight saving over the deeper 31t. This is the rim that we use in our ‘Vivaldi‘ and ‘Vivaldi Disc‘ sets for this reason. It’s tubeless compatible and builds into sets with DCR hubs and CX-Rays weighing 1445g.

Kinlin 31t – available in 20/24/28/32h – £71(C:\Users\Sid\Documents\271317255261252376245363\2

490g

This is a very progressive rim profile and is well suited to higher speeds and more powerful riders. It is very stiff but remarkably light. People are often put off a little by this sort of weight but you have a strong, stiff, aero and tubeless compatible rim here at a very reasonable price. For example DCR hubs and CX-Ray spokes would weigh 1500g.
