DCR wheels is a team of wheelbuilders who collectively share decades of building experience. We build wheels here in the UK because it’s the right way to do it; it is versatile, it preserves the skills, it drastically lowers the shipping footprint (vs shipping completed wheelsets from the far east), its special, you have local support where you need it and we can quickly respond to changes in the market as required.

As of November 2025, DCR Wheels will no longer service/repair wheels from other manufacturers

Over the years, we’ve spent considerable time repairing wheels built by other manufacturers – often wheels that are still under warranty or should be supported by the original supplier. We believe manufacturers have a responsibility to stand behind their products with proper aftermarket support. When they don’t, it creates an unfair burden on independent wheelbuilders like us who are then expected to solve problems we didn’t create.

By focusing exclusively on wheels we build ourselves, we can:

  1. Guarantee the quality of every component from the start Provide genuine lifetime support rather than ad-hoc repairs
  2. Keep our lead times manageable for our own customers
  3. Maintain the high standards that DCR is known for

We’re not stepping away from supporting the cycling community – we’re simply refusing to subsidise other companies’ lack of aftercare. If you’re considering buying wheels elsewhere Before purchasing wheels from another brand or builder, we strongly recommend asking: What is the warranty period? Who handles repairs after the warranty expires? Who will service the wheels if purchased second-hand? What is the turnaround time for repairs? If they can’t give you clear answers, think carefully about whether that’s a risk worth taking.

    Please be aware that we run a busy workshop and it is not possible for us to come to the phone despite our being open. Email is a much more reliable means of contact.

    Please note that we do not reply over weekends and we cannot reply to texts. We endeavor to answer all initial enquiries within 48 hours. If it has been a little longer than that and you have not yet received a response, please do not feel dejected ~ David is probably just very busy building!
